About Us
A Volunteer, Nonprofit Community Association
We are a volunteer, nonprofit community association, drawing members from the greater Leavenworth, WA area. We take great pleasure in showcasing the alphorn and promoting the alpine theme in Leavenworth and beyond. Our public appearances often include a bit of alphorn education and, of course, photo ops!
Performance, Musical Expression, the Sound of the Alps
Playing and performing on the alphorn is very satisfying. The alphorn offers a unique form of musical expression which is pleasing to player and listener alike. Above all, the look and sound of the alphorn is an iconic representation of the alps, the region in which the horn originates and from whence it derives its name.
Fun and Fellowship
Our members love performing together, but we also enjoy gathering for practices, social occasions, and celebrations.
Projekt Bayern
The founding of our association was made possible by support from Projekt Bayern, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Bavarian theme in Leavenworth, WA.
Youth Program
One important goal of our association is to introduce the alphorn to youth in our community. We are pleased to involve middle and high school students in our activities, including our annual workshop.
